Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is the therapeutic use of aromatic plant extracts, or Essential Oils. These fragrant oils can be used in different ways to promote health. Essential Oils have a powerful effect on our bodies, minds and emotions when absorbed into the body and through our sense of smell. Combining the oils with therapeutic massage produces a very effective and pleasurable treatment. The benefits of relaxation and an increased sense of well-being are immediately apparent. A course of treatments produces long-term benefits especially when illness is related to stress. Symptoms that can be treated include insomnia, headache, irritable bowel syndrome, pre-menstrual tension, chronic fatigue and depression.
ConsultationsAt the first appointment, we spend about 40 minutes talking about your health and any problems that you would like to be addressed. For the massage, you undress down to your underwear, climb onto a comfortable massage couch and are covered with warm towels. Some initial massage is done through the towels, then legs, back, neck & shoulders, face and feet etc are massaged in turn with oils. In this way, most of the body is massaged. Afterwards there is some time to relax on the couch for a while before dressing. Follow-up AppointmentsA whole appointment lasts between 13/4- 2 hours. At subsequent appointments less time is spent talking, allowing for a longer massage.
